Eclecticism pur sang

A Brooklyn loft with European flair - that's how SE would call it.

Photo: Wallpaper

In a former store for home supplies (kitchen supplies etc.), which was founded in the late 19th century, architect and interior designer Gisbert Pöppler found the idea of creating an assemblage of art, furniture and decoration objects with the poetic background of the Wallstraße 85 in Berlins' Mitte neighborhood.

I will not write anything more about it as this showcase must be experienced by oneself.

Whenever you are in the city of Berlin, make sure to have a peek at this temporary gem.

Between Time will be on view until September 22nd. 2013.

HurRAY

She would have turned 100 years today, Mrs. Eames.

Although she hasn't been around for a long time, her influence is still so alive. I have said it before, but I will repeat it: if you haven't seen the documentary about Charles and Ray Eames, please do so. The holidays are a perfect for it - no more no-time-excuses.

Edible color boost

DesignPosted by Studio Elysion Thu, May 05, 2011 11:31:45
We all know that Pantone's color schemes are mind-blowingly inspirational and sometimes even urge cravings for them.

This lady took it quite literally and made edible versions of Pantone's color charts.
They were even part of an art show in TriBeCa, NYC.

Interested? DIY.

Another shiny day in the orchard of the Apples. This year's harvest will provide us with the authentic color of the Apple: pure white.

The harvesting will start today.

Every day design

I was nicely surprised by the great design of such a common product as baking soda. Sleek, simple characters in black on white frosted plastic.

All by Doves Farm, a Brittish specialist in organic and gluten free products.

No Brand

DesignPosted by Studio Elysion Sat, November 13, 2010 16:49:57
For many years Muji (short for 'mujirushi', Japanese for 'no brand') has proven that the Japanese are still king when it comes to design. Their thoughtfulness and simplicity is impeccable.

New York based publisher Rizzoli recently released a thick book filled with the philosophy of Muji. A timeless peace of inspiration equipment.
